SEACAP 11. National Training Programme on Rural Road Management: Final Report.

Abstract

The objective of this project was to improve rural road sustainability. This was done by increasing the capacities of the provincial and local authorities to manage the rural roads under their responsibilities. Training was provided in the maintenance and the management skills required. The project developed the Commune Road Maintenance Handbook which served as the basis for the training. Training materials were developed for the training of 180 Provincial level trainers and 720 District level trainers. The training of more than 12,000 transport staff was carried out in the 6,000 communes, 357 Districts and 43 RT2 participating provinces. Note that the SEACAP 10 project extended this training to the remaining 21 provinces not included in RT2.
