Review of NRSP soils-related research in the context of sustainable livelihoods for the rural and urban poor. Final Technical Report for PD098.

Abstract

This review of soils-related projects for sustainable livelihoods was initiated with an expectation that evidence for the contribution of soil and its management to the livelihoods of the poor would be found. The project purpose thus was to use this evidence \"to sensitise and influence NR programme and project managers and policy makers to make policy and management decisions with a realistic appreciation of soil as a component of natural capital which is relied upon by poor people in pursuing their livelihood strategies.\"
