Abstract

An outline is given of the research project 'Fisheries dynamics of modified floodplains'. Focused on Bangladesh study sites, the detailed mechanisms by which flood control schemes affect fish behaviour and productivity are investigated and consideration given to any cheaper, natural methods that could be used as alternatives to stocking, to conserve and enhance catches from these resources.
