Abstract

This is a report of the research results from the first round of a small grants research competition to support and inform implementation, ratification and/or enforcement of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) in low and middle-income countries. It also includes summaries of the grants awarded through round 2. The grants research competition was funded by Research for International Tobacco Control (RITC) of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Ottawa, Canada, together with the Canadian Tobacco Control Research Initiative (CTCRI) and the American Cancer Society.
