Reducing Vitamin A deficiency through introduction of orange-fleshed sweetpotatoes in Western Kenya.

Abstract

The main goal of this study was to determine whether beta-carotene rich sweetpotato cultivars can provide a year-round, sustainable source of vitamin A in the diets of communities in western Kenya where very low levels of vitamin A consumption among children under five years of age have been identified.
