Provincial TB Control Programme Punjab. Guidelines and tools for mapping and selection of private partners for PPM development.

Abstract

There is a need for public-private partnerships to be developed to improve the control of tuberculosis in Pakistan (using directly observed short course treatment). This document provides advice on how to select suitable private sector hospitals, clinics and laboratories. Appendices include survey questionnaires and score sheets for assessing private-sector institutions, an introductory letter for explaining the process to these institutions, a description of how such partnerships should work, and two draft memoranda of understanding.
