Promotion of practical approaches to soil and water conservation for smallholder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa. Final Technical Report for project R7085.

Abstract

This document represents the final report of project R7085, \"Promotion of practical approaches to soil and water conservation for smallholder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa\". The report describes project activities and outputs, including the development of a farmer-friendly guide documenting different soil and water conservation options. The guide draws upon various sources of information on technologies. The heart, however, are recommendations on advantages and disadvantages given by farmers who were involved in participatory technology development and extension activities. Their insights are to be disseminated to other farmers as a basket of technological options they can experiment with, adopt or adapt.
