Promotion of control measures for cassava brown streak disease. Final Technical Report.

Abstract

The main focus of the present project was promotion of control measures developed under project R7563. Initial on-farm research into roguing and selection of planting material was abandoned because of farmers’ hostility to roguing and annual shortage of planting material. The project then focused exclusively on dissemination of CBSD-tolerant varieties accompanied by an information campaign to raise farmers’ awareness of CBSD symptoms and availability of tolerant varieties.
