Promoting pro-poor policy lessons with key policy actors in India: Scientific report

Abstract

This project aimed to promote pro-poor policy lessons of project R8100 with key policy actors in India in the priority states of Jharkhand, Orissa and West Bengal in eastern India. It was hoped that by project end, originally scheduled for March 2005, stakeholders in state-level institutions and some key national level policy actors would use the knowledge generated by the project in ways that could benefit poor people, specifically, the Consensus-Building Process (CBP) and findings of R8100 being used by institutions for service provision such that farmers recognize favourable changes. The achievements, outcomes and lessons learned for the four outputs of the project are presented and discussed.
