Preparing for microbicide access: Nigera country profile.
Abstract
This report is one of a series of country profiles that compile information on demography, HIV epidemiology and health systems in countries hosting or planning to host trials of vaginal microbicides for HIV prevention. Information is also given about regulatory and manufacturing capacity for drugs, and their procurement. A range of key stakeholders were interviewed about what might influence the use of microbicides; their views on microbicide delivery, regulatory considerations, advocacy and the involvement of stakeholders are given. Although the report is about Nigeria as a whole, it provides more detailed information on the states of Lagos to represent the south and Kano to represent the north.
