Abstract

In this paper we seek to synthesise qualitative and quantitative insights on chronic poverty. We do this by first reviewing key insights about poverty transitions from the qualitative sources, and then see to what extent these are found to be a more widespread phenomenon in Uganda based on the quantitative data.
