Policy Brief 8: Speeding dramatic change in rice fallows: low-input pulses where nothing grew before.

Abstract

In the post-rainy rabi season, rice fields in South Asia often lie fallow and bare. It is suggested that fast-growing pulse crops can be grown profitable in this season, and ways in which policy-makers can facilitate this are noted.
