Abstract

This manual introduces and explains the PFSA software. The Participatory Fisheries Stock Assessment software supports a method for rapidly assessing fisheries, and making use of any available information. In particular the method encourages involvement of fishers in the assessment process, allowing them to influence decisions. The software forms the analytical part of a methodology which includes interviews, fishing experiments and standard analyses involving time series data. The parFish software can be downloaded from the FMSP website (www.fmsp.org.uk/Software.htm).
