Opportunties for Accelerating AIDS Vaccine R and D in China
Abstract
China has made significant commitments to controlling its AIDS epidemic, making large investments in prevention and treatment programs. It also has signaled a determination to invigorate its life sciences research and development (R and D) capabilities to become a global innovator in the biopharmaceutical sector. In this time of rapid growth and scientific progress, China is poised to assume greater leadership in one of the most important intersections of public health and innovation: the development of a vaccine to prevent HIV infection.
