New tools for neglected diseases in Africa: What are the best regulatory pathways?

Abstract

This presentation introduces the concept of product development partnerships to develop drugs for neglected tropical diseases, and describes the work of DNDi on drugs for sleeping sickness, Chagas' disease, leishmaniasis and malaria, and the need to strengthen regulatory capacity in Africa to enable the registration of innovative drugs which emerge from such research and have not been previously approved elsewhere.
