Needs assessment as a tool for improving the impact of post-harvest research and development work.

Abstract

This was the final phase of the \"Non-grain starch staple post-harvest and technology transfer project: Uganda\" under which there was a commitment to the Government of Uganda until 31 August 1995. The project was concerned with the validation of needs-assessment methodologies through case studies on the most important commodities in the country: cassava, sweet potato and cooking banana. Adaptive research in support of these needs-assessment studies was initiated as appropriate. Related project: R6317. This project was previously under R5079.
