Abstract

This document contains a directory of all of the branches and microfinance institutions (MFIs) identified that are offering MF services in the surveyed areas on the chars of NW Bangladesh and presents key data on the types of services offered and the portfolio of the various MFIs. It is based on research conducted by the Chars Livelihoods Programme (CLP), alongside an external consultant Md. Harun-Or Rashid (November 2011 - January 2012). The directory and baseline data are intended to provide a useful reference document for stakeholders including large national MFIs, as well as smaller local MFIs, and organisations such as Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) for their future work on the chars.
