Mechanisms to Improve Energy Efficiency in Small Industries. Part One: Poverty and Energy Efficiency in Small Industries - A Review of the Issues

Abstract

The main objectives of project R7413 (Mechanisms to Improve Energy Efficiency in Small Industries) are to promote mechanisms to increase the adoption of energy efficient technologies and practices in the case of one small scale industry sector in India and Ghana.

This section first sets out to review the possible links between energy efficiency improvements and poverty reduction. The purpose is to review the issues that could have an impact on poverty reduction in this project that explores the gaps between existing practices of small industry with respect to their use of energy and to explore the potential for improving their energy use.
