Manual A. Urban Land Access: An Overview
Abstract
The aim of this manual is to describe the process of urban land access (land purchase, land development and land occupation) in South Africa. It is intended for leaders of organised groups of homeless in need of land for housing development. It starts with an introduction to the land access process, covering land and the law, the land development journey, the 5 stages in the land access process (organising, deciding, planning, approvals and implementing), and the individual steps making up each stage. The five stages are then described in more detail.
