Making chronic poverty history. Chronic Poverty Update.

Abstract

This update explains why addressing chronic poverty is a prerequisite for making poverty history. It uses graphs to underline the need for more resources - especially for the social sectors. It also looks briefly at cash transfers - one way of providing the poorest with both practical assistance and more control.
