Long-term Changes in Land-use and Resource Entitlements with Resettlement in Zimbabwe. Final Report R8004.

Abstract

The principle objective of this project was to generate and analyse objective data on changes in natural resource supply conditions over a 20-year period following resettlement in Zimbabwe's land reform process. This report has 5 sections. Following a review of the project’s background and objectives, section 2 reviews the methods used, focusing, in particular, on the generation of scheme- and village-specific land cover data using remote-sensing sources. Section 3 then summarizes the findings and explores their implications for policy concurrently. Section 4 describes dissemination activities. Finally, section 5 lists and describe the papers that have been produced under the project.
