Knowledge dissemination domains in the Forest Agriculture Interface. Final Technical Report for project R7515.

Abstract

This document represents the final report of NRSP project R7515, \"Knowledge dissemination domains in the Forest Agriculture Interface\". This two-year project sought to address the gap between technology development and adoption in the FAI. Specifically, the project used the case of soil fertility management, and natural resource management more broadly, in southern Ghana to explore both new conceptual frameworks and practical tools to help researchers and research managers more effectively address the interests and needs of farmers. The innovative conceptual framework focused on relevant characteristics of proposed technologies and potential technology users. This framework then served as the base for an Access-based decision support system (called 'Interface') which allows ex ante assessment of the policy relevant impact of alternative technology development options. The framework and decision support system were explored in detail at a workshop in Ghana toward the end of the project.
