Investing when it counts: generating the evidence base for policies and programmes for very young adolescents. Guide and toolkit.

Abstract

This guide is written for people involved in planning, managing, implementing, monitoring or funding research or programmes that involve gathering information about adolescents aged 10-14. It was written with the development of HIV/AIDS programmes in mind, but is relevant for programmes on many other threats to the health and well-being of this group. After an introduction to the subject it describes what is known about the lives of very young adolescents, and discusses ethical issues; the longest section is about methods of data collection.
