Introduction: 25 years of living with HIV/AIDS: challenges and prospects.
Abstract
This article is the introduction to a special issue of the journal which marks the 25th anniversary of the discovery of the HIV virus by bringing together a collection of articles from leading scholars engaged in, or concerned with, the challenges posed by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Collectively, the articles that make up the rest of the issue address the power relations driving HIV/AIDS, frustrating the possibility of alleviation, care and recovery and operating to relegate entire regions to a vulnerable and bleak future.
