Introducing a microbicide – factors impacting country adoption: Zambia and South Africa.

Abstract

This presentation describes studies of access to vaginal microbicides (for HIV prevention) in South Africa and Zambia, to provide information useful for their introduction. The main findings were that delays were real and significant, but that there were also opportunities. Other issues are mentioned more briefly, and recommendations are made.
