Integrated floodplain management modelling report.

Abstract

This report contributes two sub-outputs towards the DFID-funded project R8306. Using an agestructured fish population dynamics model that accounts for the effects of hydrology, Sections 3 and 4 of the report explore potential benefits of implementing: (i) controls over dry season water abstractions for irrigation, (ii) closed seasons and (iii) reserves for fisheries exploiting two beels (Charan and Goakhola) in Bangladesh. The second output is 'Guidelines for determining benefits to the fisheries sector from controlling dry season water abstractions.'
