Abstract

The project aimed to develop and promote strategies that reduce the impact of pests, in particular Striga (whose effect was compounded by conditions of low soil fertility) and stemborer, on maize crops of the poor, through: improved understanding of local coping strategies; identifying constraints to adoption; on-farm evaluation of selected technology options, improving access to inputs; and linking stakeholders as partners during the project
