Abstract
This document represents the final report of NRSP project R7099, \"Improved utilisation of urban waste by near-urban farmers in the Hubli-Dharwad city-region\", which aimed to explore how the collection, disposal and treatment of urban waste could better meet the needs of farmers in the peri-urban areas of Hubli-Dharwad. The report describes project activities, including observation of farmer activities and on-farms with municipal solid waste. The report describes the strategies identified for the management of waste as well as the policy recommendations made by the project.
