This issue covers conflict resolution, elections in Africa, electoral assistance, internet voting in Estonia, money and politics
The contributors to this issue of id21 insights show that since the early days of promoting global democracy over 20 years ago, the conduct of national and local elections has proved valuable. They also demonstrate, however, that while elections may be a significant precondition for modern democratic societies, they are only one element of democracy. The issue includes brief articles on: Conflict resolution; Successful elections in Africa; Re-evaluating electoral assistance; Fighting for change in Guinea; Internet voting in Estonia; Money and politics; and Certifying election commissions.
