This Research in Context brief provides context and policy-relevant analysis of the agriculture research project ‘Space, Markets and Employment in Agricultural Development’. The project was funded by the Department for International Development - Economic and Social Research Council ‘Growth Research Programme’ (DEGRP)

Led by Andries du Toit of the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, the research looked at how agricultural development stimulates rural economies in Malawi, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
