Abstract

This document presents the key results of recent research on health care systems conducted by the Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) in West Bengal, India. Phase-I scoping studies which were conducted during January-March, 2007 are summarized and the main findings outlined with the aim of diagnosing the challenges on the road towards an equitable future health system.
