Abstract

What has been the poverty reduction experience of Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries which experienced multiparty democracy since the early 1990s? Has the poverty reduction impact of growth been reinforced? If not what institutional reforms are needed? This briefing looks at these questions for a set of 32 SSA countries.
