Abstract

This is the first paper of a series of three that focus on key topical areas in gender, health and development. Using the health sector as a case study, this progress report will synthesize discourse, action and progress to date on gender mainstreaming within sector wide approaches. Subsequent reports will consider gender equity and access to HIV and AIDS health services and research approaches in gender, health and development.
