Abstract
This handbook leads the reader through the significant areas of planning and monitoring that should be addressed if fish aggregating devices (FADs) are to fulfil their potential and if unforeseen negative effects are to be avoided. It describes the use of simple assessment methods that will assist programme managers to develop rational, sustainable FAD programmes. Four chapters cover FAD Programme basics, planning, monitoring and analysis.
