Final Technical Report: Community-led tools for enhancing production and resource conservation.

Abstract

This document represents the final report of project R7584, \"Community-led tools for enhancing production and resource conservation\". The report describes project activities and outputs, most notably the development of positive relations between local profesionals and groups of the poor in the Andean region of Bolivia. These relations enabled more effective communication of needs and subsequently a more responsive provision of advice.

This research has shown ways of satisfying the purpose of the NRSP by offering poor people better access to knowledge of the natural resources through quality contact with committed local professionals. The application of such knowledge may be sustainable because it involves mostly low-cost inputs and its local relevance has been tested by farmers over at least two crop years. The degree of sustainability of the production increases can only be assessed over a longer period.
