Abstract

This case study considers the desakota context, water scarcity in Beijing, and the situation in the Miyun watershed (including characteristics of the Miyun Reservoir, drivers of change and stakeholder opinions, and policies and methods for water protection). The Miyun Reservoir is the main drinking water source for Beijing, accounting for more than 50 percentage of Beijing water supply.
