Abstract
Against the backdrop of major shifts in the availability and means of delivery of abortion services across much of the world, an expert group meeting on the definition and measurement of unsafe abortion was held on the 9th and 10th January, 2014. The two-day meeting combined chaired panel presentations followed by plenary discussions on the first day, with group discussions on the second day around specific topics.
This report is in three sections. Section one summarizes the presentations at the meetings under their session themes; section two presents the key discussion points as they relate to the objectives of the meeting; and section three highlights priorities for future directions proposed by participants.
