Abstract

The purpose of this project was to assess promising new pearl millet and elephant grass hybrids for their agronomic characteristics and capacity to sustain milk production in smallholder dairy systems under semi-arid conditions. Also to evaluate the potential for milk production of Jersey cross-bred cows fed improved forages in smallholder systems.
