EU Trade Policy and the Poor: Lessons from Latin America and the Caribbean

Abstract

EC-PREP in coordination with BOND hosted a series of workshops in London to discuss research findings and policy recommendations from the EC-PREP research programme. The workshops were arranged to cover three broad themes. These were Trade, Agriculture and Food Security and Modes of Policy Making and Implementation.

The first workshop on 'EU Trade Policy and the Poor: Lessons from Latin America and the Caribbean' took place on 24th May and featured the following EC-PREP research studies:The Impact of the Cotonou Agreement on Trade, Production and Poverty Alleviation in the Caribbean Region and EU Trade Policy and the Poor- Towards Improving the Poverty Impact of The GSP in Latin America.
