Environmental adaptability of tropical and sub-tropical legume species as hillside cover crops. Final Technical Report for project R6447.

Abstract

This document represents the final report of project R6447, 'Environmental adaptability of tropical and sub-tropical legume species as hillside cover crops'. It describes project activities and outputs, most notably the development and validation of a simple model which accounts for the photothermal influences in crop phenology across a broad range of tropical and sub-tropical legume species and genotypes. The model predicts whether or not, for a given sowing date and environment, a specific genotype can flower and reach pod maturity in the time available in the cropping calendar.
