Abstract

This final report sets out a research agenda on the practice and impact of decentralisation. Field consultations were undertaken, focusing on two levels and two dimensions of decentralisation. These are presented as case studies:

  • a macro level analysis of decentralistion and fiscal frameworks in India

  • a micro level case study of local governance and service delivery outcomes in Bangladesh
