Abstract

This paper argues for more widespread evaluation of the health impacts of WASH interventions, and suggests more frequent evaluation could contribute to improved effectiveness. Methods are analysed, and the most appropriate approach in urban WASH evaluation contexts is deemed often to be the before-after concurrent control (BAC) design. This paper is co-published by Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) and SHARE.
