Abstract
the project purpose was to develop and promote small private businesses as service providers for advice, input supply and plant protection services for horticultural production so as to facilitate dissemination of new technology, know-how and information closer to users, and, to demonstrate the viability of private service providers as an alternative to inefficient government services. This will contribute towards poverty reduction by ensuring continued participation of the many smallholder horticultural producers and workers involved in the export industry in Kenya.
