Decentering a "Traditional" Classroom Through War-Talk and/or Trauma.

Abstract

This paper uses what students in Sierra Leone have in common, the traumas of war, to introduce them to feminist and critical pedagogy with the aim of dislodging student's worldviews, and belief systems. In essence, it encourages students to become critical thinkers and to take knowledge from the classroom and put it into practice in real life.
