Abstract

An overview of disasters in India, understanding corporate social responsibility and the study's methodology are presented. Indian industry and its corporate social responsibility (CSR) motives and trends are then described. Disaster reduction and CSR is then assessed through company response examples. Constraints to CSR are considered and two case studies are presented.
