Community forestry in Nepal: sustainability and impacts on common and private property resource management. Final Technical Report of project R6778.

Abstract

This document represents the final report of NRSP project R6778, \"Community forestry in Nepal: sustainability and impacts on common and private property resource management\", which aimed to develop an improved understanding of common property issues and tenure rights and to incorporate these into land-management and planning strategies. The report describes important project findings that clearly demonstrate the strengths and weakness of forest user groups and makes suggestions for ways in which these groups could be made more representative of, and respsonsive to, the needs of the poor.
