Abstract

This presentation discusses the (somewhat limited) existing information on the use of artemisinin and mefloquine in combination to treat malaria in Africa, and describes a proposed study to address the lack of information by evaluating and comparing the efficacy and safety of the fixed-dose combination of AS-MQ with the existing first-line treatment (artemether + lumefantrine [?]) for uncomplicated falciparum malaria in Tanzanian children
