Case Study: Micro hydro scheme, Ghandruk, Nepal.

Abstract

An electrification project in Ghandruk, a tourist village in the mountains of central Nepal, is outlined. Background, financing, public-private partnerships, access to electricity, and livelihood benefits are summarized. It is concluded that the construction and management of the microhydro plant is an example of a successful public private partnership.
