Abstract

Kisiizi is a small rural village in SW Uganda which includes a hospital which is an important rural health centre. A 60 kW hydroelectric plant is the only source of electricity. This case study on the electricity plant summarized the background, financing, public-private partnerships, access to electricity, and livelihood benefits of the hydroplant.
