Care seeking for postpartum morbidities in Murshidabad, rural India
Abstract
A household survey was carried out involving interviews with 2114 mothers in February 2008 in the Murshidabad district of India. Results showed that Hindu women were less likely to seek care for postpartum morbidities than Muslim women. This finding is interesting and should be investigated further, as it may have important implications for programs that aim to increase women's access to postpartum care.
